Evaluations of Projects & Services

An impartial and objective research proposal demonstrates impartiality and reduces the risk of bias. It is used to explain to funders how you intend to evaluate your project or service and covers the main issues that the research will seek to address, how participants will be selected, current knowledge and debates about the topic.

Evaluations help to demonstrate the impact that have project or service has had on beneficiaries or in a community, and many public bodies will insist on a thorough independent evaluation before deciding whether to fund an existing service or award continuation funding.

We wanted to raise our profile regionally, nationally and within the demolition industry. Whilst we had previously applied for awards, we had been unsuccessful. We asked Jo if she would write a nomination for us. After interviewing our nominee and producing two award nominations, we were shortlisted for Apprentice of the Year Award in the East Midlands 2016 and we won the National Federation Demolition Contractors - Demolition Operative of the Year Award 2016, including a trophy and a £1,000 prize money for our nominee, Aaron Evans. We were absolutely delighted with the outcome and our increased profile. Now we have had a taste of success, we definitely want more and will be using Jo’s services again.

We wanted to improve the quality of life for our local residents and asked Jo if she could work with us, and our beneficiaries, to design a project that would make a real difference to the quality of life in our area. Jo’s knowledge enabled us to develop an evaluation of our existing services, consult our beneficiaries and develop a well thought out stage I application to the Big Lottery Reaching Communities programme that we titled ‘Our-Place’. We were immediately invited to submit a stage II application and we were successful in securing £428,271 over five years.

Business Communications

I was engaged in a lengthy legal battle with some former business partners and asked Jo for her opinion on my position. Jo audited my paperwork and identified the pros and cons of my position, produced a report for my Solicitor that was concise and saved me both time and money. She also attended numerous meetings with me in Portugal to present my case and develop a way forward. Her knowledge of corporate governance and ability to see things clearly was invaluable. I had never met nor knew of Jo before appointing her and did so by personal recommendation.
